The Consumer Protection Program, an integral part of the WeCare Partnerships Network, serves four important purposes:

1. To educate individuals, businesses and organizations about the growing identity theft crisis and its’ current and likely impact on our unstable economy.
2. To make individuals and organizations aware of the protection programs that are available for those that wish to safeguard themselves
3. To assure consumers that the businesses we work with are working honestly and ethically.
4. To provide consumers with an on-line directory of businesses and organizations who care about them as customers and clients, thereby helping consumers to bypass some of the business corruption so prevalent in today's society.
   

This is similar to a restaurant sanitation grading system.  Most consumers prefer eating at a "Grade A" restaurant than a "Grade C" for one reason - it is safer.  We encourage businesses to increase their awareness of identity theft issues, and to train their employees to take better care of you - the customer.

At this point, identity theft is no longer preventable, largely due to the number of databases our information resides in, and the number of times a day that information gets bought and sold into new databases.  But isn't it good to know that some businesses care and are doing what they can?  Let our partners know that you appreciate their efforts!
